Why some of us are so compelled to keep up with the Kardashians

Do you follow the Kardashians?

If health were about the habits that create health, I wouldn’t be interested. I simply wouldn’t. The habits in and of themselves are not worth the effort to make them.

Thankfully, though, I am motivated by outcomes. So, the outcomes from creating and maintaining excellent health habits are highly motivating to me.

Oh, you want to know what this has to do with watching the Kardashians…

Why do people watch the Kardashians? It’s entertainment to them. They get to see how the Kardashians live, witness the things they can do with their wealth and feel the drama that plays out in their lives. It might even be a reprieve for the people watching the show from the drama in their own lives.

The thing is, as long as you’re watching the Kardashians, you’re not being the Kardashians (that could be good or bad depending on your perspective.)

The same is true about your life and your health. As long as you are just watching your life and not getting meaningfully involved with creating the life and health you want, you will witness your drama and see what comes up next. There is no problem or judgment with that … unless you don’t like what you do or don’t see that is coming your way!

Today is always a perfect day to improve your life. With 2016 just getting started, well, could there be a better time? While the answer is a resounding, “NO! There could not be a better time!” be aware that some voice inside you will ALWAYS say that it is not a good time. After all, we are creatures of habit. The trick is to start NOW to make healthy choices your daily habits of choice.
